Initial thought that images “disappeared” is false, and this has been known to lead individuals to share explicit images, thinking they are deleted, but in fact are saved. Whisper: Completely anonymous profiles for users may lead to a potentially unsafe environment for youth. Grindr and tinder: Dating sites that youth tend to explore, exposing them to adult profiles and potentially enabling them to become targeted. Yik Yak: Geolocation site that has resulted in threats towards schools. Backpage and Craigslist: These sites are used for various purposes but have been associated with Human Trafficking. ** “disclaimer” that many of the applications have security settings to block unknown users. Also, educating children to only connect with people they actually know helps to keep them safe.
